Joining City Pantry was a natural extension of both my professional and personal beliefs. A mother of two working at HelloFresh, I strongly believed that a family that eats together, sticks together. When you spend the majority of your time at the office, it's no wonder that your teams become a professional version of exactly that: a family.
When I started City Pantry the key motivation was to create a great place to come to work. This is still the case today. The happiness and success of our customers and vendor-partners are of paramount importance to us, and our people are equally so. Creating a place that people are excited to come to and in which they continue to be both challenged and supported is a key goal for me as we scale over the coming years.
I joined City Pantry as an intern – it was an amazing opportunity to learn at speed in a fast-growing start up. I loved being able to put my ideas into actions. Two years later, I head up our Customer Service and Account Management team – I love coming to work every day with a great team that I am really proud of. Our customers love us (most of the time) and that is because of hard work from everyone to provide a great service.
As long as I can remember, I have loved to create, fix and improve things. After a short but intense project for the government, I was craving a job with exciting problems and palpable, immediate impact of solving them. Passionate about food, maps and tech, my move to City Pantry was a no-brainer — I love my responsibility for anything tech, the sense of ownership, and the team that I am proud to be a part of.
I joined City Pantry as an intern after going backpacking for a year after university. It seemed a great opportunity to work for a fast-growing, fun and dynamic company whilst combining my interests in both technology and food. I now head up the operations team. We're using technology to help teams across London work better together whilst showcasing some of the best food on offer in the city.
I joined City Pantry in early 2017 as a developer. I had to hit the ground running with a whole new website to be built from day one, but the pace and scope of the challenge was thrilling. It was made even easier by the close-knit nature of our teams (and of course, the delicious food that never stops coming in). These days, I'm always busy creating the next great feature for our product, making our customers' lives easier (and more delicious).

Fun and intense – it's not your everyday job.
We enjoy delicious lunches provided by some of London’s best kitchens three times a week, with treats throughout the day. We also hold City Pantry-wide socials every few weeks – any excuse – while teams organise their own social get-togethers. Of course, there's no pressure to attend.
We offer unlimited holiday. Yes - unlimited. You are free to invest in personal projects, travel further afield, learn a new language, take an intensive sushi-making course – or anything else – on your schedule. Working is flexible too. Whether someone's under the weather, a delivery is on its way, you're booking *that thing* or you need a different headspace, we all work at home, or elsewhere, from time to time.
We contribute £2000 towards your personal development and learning, whether it’s a webinar series or a book you’ve been after. We also learn together, holding regular internal sessions on a wide variety of fascinating topics, with food and drink as standard.
As well as having a nourishing lunch three times a week, we have a monthly wellbeing activity budget to provide perks like massage therapists and smoothie bikes into the office.
